IIT RTC Conference, October 6, 2011 (Chicago)
I participated on a panel discussion on the Universal Service Fund and Inter-Carrier Compensation reform underway at the FCC. Bill Myers of Communications Daily moderated the panel. Glenn Richards of the VON Coalition and Pillsbury Law joined me. While Glenn and I agree on most things, I still say if something looks, smells, and tastes like a telephone, it is a telephone.
Not that the discussion was timely, but Chairman Genachowski gave his presentation on USF and ICC reform just an hour before my presentation. Unfortunately, we were about 750 miles apart.
My presentation was an overview of the USF and ICC. The more interesting part was the discussion, which unfortunately I do not have captured here.
