This seminar will describe the local venture community, with a focus on both IT startups and IT at startups. This seminar will be of interest if you are thinking about starting your own company, working at a startup, getting involved with the venture community, or are just curious as to how a startup works. The seminar will cover the various models for funding, what it takes to be an entrepreneur, what it is like to work for an entrepreneur, what you can expect at the end, and what it is like to build a company from an idea to an on-going enterprise. The speaker will offer his experiences as a serial entrepreneur. In addition, there will be a special focus on the role of IT in the modern, distributed startup.
