MRCPv2 Implementations

VoiceXML/MRCP Forum

As we move from invention to implementation phase, there is a community in the VoiceXML Forum dedicated to the promulgation of MRCP.

The VoiceXML Forum is an industry organization formed to create and promote the Voice Extensible Markup Language (VoiceXML). This markup language is is designed for creating audio dialogs that feature synthesized speech, digitized audio, recognition of spoken and DTMF key input, recording of spoken input, telephony, and mixed initiative conversations. VoiceXML 2.0 has been published as Recommendation by the W3C as part of its Voice Browser Activity. The VoiceXML Forum feels that MRCP is a key technology for enabling the continued success and adoption of VoiceXML. As such, it has created the MRCP Liaison Committee to evangelize and support this protocol within the industry. This committee also aims to offer educational sessions on MRCP as well as certification and/or interoperability testing resources for MRCP-based products. Additionally, the team aims to ensure that VoiceXML Forum members are aware of this evolving standard and have the necessary information to provide feedback to the IETF on specification drafts.
